Today marks the 6th year anniversary of a wedding that we provided a stunning marquee for. This morning I got a message from the bride still saying thank you for providing them with a marquee and that we had made their day in their words “special”, it got me thinking…… I have been really trying to write a blog but I have just not been able to find the words and I know that is not like me at all but this one comment really helped.
Covid hit us hard as it did many others and we lost loved ones we lost business and we very nearly lost ourselves like many others, but we got through it, as a team, a family, individuals and as a business.
Today’s news is that the cost of living is rising, we have a recession on the cards and we are all having to tighten our belts. If you are crazy enough to read my many facebook posts you will know that we all have what we call “day jobs”. Mr Eclipse and not so mini eclipse have a building firm, DJ Eclipse is smashing life as a club DJ, mini Eclipse is finding his way at school and I volunteer and work with the elderly and vulnerable we do what we can right and I know we aren’t the only ones. Life is tough. A good friend of mine keeps on telling me that “you only have one life so live it” if you don’t like it, only you can change it. Better yourself your situation, learn grow remember always be kind to those you meet and do others no harm but above all else Live your life Your way, I think they have a valid point don’t you?
Like I said life is tough, covid may have gone but its effects still remain and will do I fear for some time but life will go on.
Your son/daughter will turn 18 or 21, you may even be turning 50 or 60. People are still falling in love, planning engagements, weddings. We still want to go out with friends to festivals, parties, dog shows, country shows, explore meet up, have fun and just forget about life for just a little while. And do you know what that’s ok, it’s ok to smile to laugh even if live is tough it’s ok to forget for a little while and just be you.
So that one comment this morning made me think about how small things can impact others lives, how an event can bring people together make us smile laugh so lets keep having them, lets keep partying lets keep living and lets keep smiling. I am not saying that by providing a marquee for someone can change their life gosh that’s daft but actually by providing a great service, by being kind going that little bit extra by having fun and making someone smile maybe just maybe that has made their day special and actually people remember that.
My business relies a lot on word of mouth and recommendations so this means the world to me, making someone smile in a world that can be pants at times is an amazing feeling and I am chuffed to bits that we can do that if only in a small way.
Now my friends are gonna laugh at me for being so mushy and my web site chap will tell me off for not being professional on my blog so I am going to have to finish by saying if you want to party and I really hope you do then you know where to find us.
Keep Smiling, Love Niki x
