Marquees Built
By People Who Know Northampton

We're based in Rushden, about 25 minutes down the A45, so Northampton isn't a long-distance job for us. Site visits are easy to fit in, and you're not paying for us to drive half the county.

Northampton's a big place and every part of it is a bit different. Newer estates like Grange Park, Upton and Wootton Fields tend to have neat, smaller gardens where a 6m-wide marquee is usually the right fit. The villages on the edge of town (Moulton, Great Houghton, Harpole) often have bigger gardens or a paddock next door, which opens up our 9m and 12m sizes. We'll come and look before we quote, so you're not guessing.

No call centre, no big-chain sales pitch. Just Harry and the team, the same people from your first enquiry through to the day itself.

Local Know-How

Planning a Marquee in Northampton

The stuff that actually matters when you're putting a marquee up in Northampton, from people who do it regularly.

Will it fit in my garden?

Most Northampton jobs are back gardens. A 6m × 9m marquee seats 20–30 (40–50 standing) and suits most estate gardens; a 9m × 12m seats 40–50 if you've got a bit more room. We also need a little space round the edges for pegs, and a clear way to carry the kit in. Side gates are usually fine.

Clay ground and wet weeks

A lot of the ground round here is clay, and after a wet week it holds water. For anything in spring or autumn we'd always suggest proper flooring. It keeps chairs level and shoes out of the mud.

Parks and council land

Thinking about a public space like Abington Park or the Racecourse? You'll need permission from West Northamptonshire Council before anything goes up, so sort that first. We'll send you the marquee size, layout and how it's secured: the details they usually ask for.

Getting your date

Summer Saturdays go first. For a 2027 wedding, get in touch 9–12 months ahead; for a party, 3–6 months is usually plenty. Smaller, midweek or winter events can often be sorted at shorter notice.

Common Questions

Northampton Marquee Hire FAQs

Yes, Northampton is one of our most regular areas. We're based about 25 minutes away in Rushden and cover the whole town plus the villages around it: Moulton, Duston, Wootton, Kingsthorpe, Great Billing, Hardingstone, Collingtree and the rest.
It depends on the garden, but most back gardens on newer estates like Grange Park, Upton and Wootton Fields suit a 6m-wide marquee: a 6m × 9m seats 20–30 guests (40–50 standing). Bigger gardens and paddocks in the villages can take our 9m and 12m sizes, seating up to 200. We'll measure up on a free site visit before we quote. See the full list in our marquee size guide.
Possibly, but you'll need permission from whoever owns the land first. For council parks like Abington Park or the Racecourse, that's West Northamptonshire Council. Get that sorted before booking anything, and we'll give you the marquee size, layout and fixing details they usually ask for.
A lot of Northampton sits on clay, which holds water after rain. That's why we recommend proper flooring for spring and autumn events. It gives you a level, dry floor whatever the weather's been doing. We'll check the ground on the site visit and tell you honestly if flooring is worth it. More on this in our heating, lighting and flooring guide.
It depends on the size of marquee, how long you need it and extras like flooring, lighting and furniture. We give free, itemised, no-obligation quotes, within 24 hours. Our marquee hire cost guide explains what affects the price.
We recommend 9–12 months ahead for weddings, especially summer Saturdays, and 3–6 months for parties and corporate events. If your date is sooner, get in touch anyway. We'll always do our best.
